I am an award-winning fine art landscape and portrait photographer from the Pacific Northwest. Raised in the beautiful valley of John Day, Oregon, I attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon and then settled for a time on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. We relocated to the Portland metro area in 1995, renewing my love affair with my home state. I love making images that demonstrate my passion for the Pacific Northwest.

My work has been published in 1859 Magazine, The Daily Beast, Time Magazine, and as cover art for books.

Artist's Statement:

Photography is an extension of the way I view the world. I see photographs everywhere I go. And by that, I mean I see how an image could be created from what's in front of me. Sometimes it’s stacks of cans on the shelves in a grocery store. Sometimes it’s children playing in a park. Sometimes it’s the late afternoon light bouncing off the rolling hills and farmland near my Oregon home.

My art is an effort to freeze those moments and create them on a presenting medium (like paper or metal, for example) the way my mind’s eye sees them. I often experiment with processing techniques to bring the images to their fullness. The goal is for the viewer to have a sense of what I felt in that moment, now forever frozen.

I personally choose each frame and mat, ensuring the framing is done to the highest standard. You can reach me by clicking the contact button in the menu at the top of this page.
